It hit me tonight as I watched the NBC news as I have for practically my whole life, the gratitude to be able to do something for 30 years. Al Roker, the iconic weatherman, is celebrating 30 years at the Today Show. At the same time, LinkedIn reminded me that I have been so incredibly blessed in my life to be doing the same work for the past 30 years as well. It has been 30 years since my father, Lewis Steele, and I founded Connolly, Steele & Company. It started with just the two of us with the desire to be a guide to our clients navigating the sometimes-chaotic waters of tax codes and financial reporting and finances in general. Many of the clients became friends or friends that became clients. We grew our team of like-minded employees who wanted to serve with integrity and care. About 9 ½ years into the start of the business, my husband Mike, joined us and created a Technology division of the Firm. We raised our three boys through many tax seasons and the sacrifices that come with owning your own business which means you can sneak out of work for the kindergarten garden party but need to go back to work after you tuck the kids in at night. As I celebrate 30 years of meaningful work at a Firm I love with people I would trust in the foxhole to have my back and those of all our clients, I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for being on this journey with me. I am humbled and grateful to have been given the opportunity to serve for the past 30 years. I still have a lot of gas in the tank, so I’ll be around for a while but also extremely proud of the team that lifts me up and encourages me to be the best version of myself including my business partner, Brandon and our Director of Practice Operations, Leslie. To all our tax managers and staff, the audit team, our payroll and bookkeeping team and the admin team who keep us all moving, thank you for your hard work and dedication, it means the world to me. To my family who has always supported me in all manner of ways so that I could pursue this crazy dream, thank you for your sacrifices and love, it is everything. And finally, for you, the clients, thank you for your trust in us, we are happy to serve.
